Mount Hope Lodge, built in 1892, is the oldest Masonic Lodge in Tyler County. With its classic design from that time, it is still in great shape.
Mount Zion Baptist Church was built in 1870, 13 years prior to Chester becoming a town. Last regular services held in 1988.
