Mount Rugh Courts was a group of cottages overlooking Bandera, cowboy capital of the world. After a 16-year tradition of locals and tourists enjoying scenery and fun, Stella Hubbard and Jack Walton added the Silver Spur Room, also known as the Silver Spur Dance Hall, in 1948 to host up to 1,200 people every Friday and Saturday night with live music and good food. Guests could see some of the biggest names in country music. The dance hall burned down in the late 1950’s or early 1960’s but you can still rent cottages next to its remains.
