While it is referred to as a ghost town, Cedar Station was a place to stop for gas, tire repair, and snacks. A ranch owner decided to build a family home, gas station, and 2-bedroom building named Tourist Courts for those needing a place to stay the night in the late 1940’s. At least 2 families operated the business through the 1960’s.
All 3 buildings still stand today, although age, weather, and vandals have not been kind. It’s still neat to stop and imagine stories shared between folks working and the many travelers passing through.
