Contrabando Texas

Until 5 years ago, parts of an old west town could be found when pulling off the highway just before entering the Big Bend National Park. Actually, you would find an abandoned film set named Contrabando built on the border of Texas and Mexico.

The buildings were constructed in 1985 for the movie “Uphill All The Way” and was later reused for movies “Rio Diablo,” “Gambler V: Playing For Keeps,” “The Journeyman,” and television shows “Streets of Laredo” and “Dead Man’s Walk.”

All buildings except one have been relocated for preservation.
