While there are still scattered residents in the area, Doole certainly has the feel of a ghost town. The speed limit on FM 503 is 70 MPH which does not inspire slowing down for a glimpse at what has been left behind. Left behind is a perfect description of businesses, empty homes, and a Baptist church still advertising weekly services (which hasn’t been the case in many years).
