The Triangle Motel was a popular stopping place on Route 66 in Amarillo after its 1945 opening. Unfortunately, the location was left to deteriorate after closing in 1977. The city commission had voted to condemn until an Amarillo resident stepped in with a commitment in 2014 to bring it up to code. Progress has been slow but the current owner is still putting in his own money with hopes to eventually restore the historical property.
